“Liquid cocaine, venti. Add-ons liquid whipped cream one shot, espresso two shots, dolce-nya satu shot aja ya. Minta di-shake.”

Ramiel mendongak dari ponselnya ketika dia mendengar pesanan seseorang yang berdiri mengantri di depannya. He hadn’t met anyone who knew that particular Starbucks’ secret recipe, until now. He used to order it all the time back in London during his law school days, and even though it kept him up all night, it’s still one of his favorite drink ever. It’s been years since the last time he drank it.

The girl who ordered the drink is really tall, almost caught up to his height. She has long black hair with hint of bleached blonde hair underneath and a cold facade that melts quickly when she replies the barista with a smile. “Atas nama?”

“Haven.”

Ramiel feels a little bit of sting in his heart. There’s nothing he could do when he memorized someone by heart and now whatever you do, or see, or hear, will always be associated to said person. Even as simple as hearing a name that shares the same meaning with that someone. He exhales, trying to collect himself whole again.

“Ah, so it was your name yang biasanya dipake sama temen satunya? Kok tumben pagi ini sendirian?”

“Hu-um, lagi keluar kota anaknya.”

They proceed to have small talks until the girl moves to the side, and Ramiel steps forward. He’s still fixated on the girl beside him. She smells faintly of roses, and she dresses in quite a quirky outfit especially compared to anyone else in this building. He guesses she works in some creative agency on the 11th floor.

“Halo, Pak Ramiel. Your usual?”

He came to this Starbucks almost every morning that the barista already memorized his order. However, he seems to have a change of heart this morning. “No, same as the lady before me,” jawabnya sambil mengedikkan bahu ke arah kirinya. Both the lady and the barista made a surprised face. “Wah, tumben banget Pak. Kayaknya dua tahun ngopi disini, baru sekarang ganti menu.”

Ramiel tertawa pendek. “Boleh dong, sekali-kali ganti.”

“Gitu dong, Pak. You never know until you try.”

Ramiel mengangguk setuju sambil mengulurkan kartunya. As the barista proceeds the payment, the lady beside him stares at him in curiosity. “You’ve been ordering the same drink in the past two years? Really?”

He turns his head in surprise as he didn’t think she would initiate a conversation. “Well, yes.”

“What drink?”

“Long black, two extra shots. Hot.”

“Wow. I don’t think their coffee is that good that you ordered the same menu everyday for two years straight.”

“I… don’t really care about the taste. I just don’t like anything with too much flavors in it.”
