“Good morning, sunshine.”
“Good morning, sir,” Haven smiles as she sees those brown iris staring back at her. She touches Ramiel’s cheek, and he kisses her fingers.
“You slept so soundly. Capek ya?”
Ramiel menggeleng pelan. “Capek iya, tapi aku tidurnya nyenyak karena ada kamu kayaknya. People say that you feel the safest when you’re with someone you love.” He comes closer and kisses Haven on the forehead. He smells faintly of musky scent and fresh linen; and she feels like she can forever dive in his scent and die there, happy. “Haven masuk jam berapa?”
“Harusnya jam sembilan, tapi ada town hall meeting jadi kayaknya aku mau dateng jam delapan deh. Konsep exhibition yang di Ashta belum kelar soalnya, padahal aku harus deal ke banyak vendor by the end of this week.”
“Jadinya apa big theme-nya?” He remembers every detail about Haven’s story. Maybe it’s his photographic memory, or maybe it’s simply because he cares.
“Belum tahu sih, Mas Dharmawangsa masih undecided juga sama temanya. Cuman terakhir ngobrol kemarin, beliau resonated banget ama tema Debris of the Past-nya Anggara. Jadi kayaknya pake itu deh, buat tema koleksinya. Jadi entar exhibition yang di Ashta ngikut itu juga.”
“Itu kamu kan, yang usul namanya?”
“Iyaaa, aku lupa pas itu Anggara proposed pake nama apa. Trus aku usul diganti itu, eh pada suka semua, kalau kepilih bakalan dijadiin nama koleksinya Mas Dharma juga.”
“Proud of my girl, as always.” Ramiel kisses Haven’s forehead again, and she giggles.
Haven loves morning like this where she can discuss about her job with Ramiel. He always has genuine curiosity about her field in the creative industry and her job as a creative director, in which Haven completely understood. Ramiel’s job as a lawyer surely performs on a completely different spectrum; so they actually enjoy this kind of conversation —not to mention both of them truly love what they’re doing as well. Ramiel always tries his best to keep up with Haven’s job, and vice versa —especially Haven’s mom used to major in law school so she knows about field of laws a bit, here and there.
“Kamu hari ini ngapain?”
“Well, my team is handling a new case and today I’ve gotta draft and review a lot of documents… Nothing looks promising, but that’s why they hired us, I guess.” Ramiel pulls Haven closer until she’s buried inside his arms. “Five more minutes, okay?” His deep, sleepy voice echoes in Haven’s ears.
“Okay.”
Haven smiles as she learns that he’s back to sleep almost immediately. She can get used to a morning like this, everyday.
